The area of the Valli Cupe presents itself with vertical naturally cut walls, inaccessible and harsh, with an often rich profile of a myriad of tiny ledges carved by the atmospheric conditions and which are the exclusive kingdom of the birds who nest on them in great numbers.
The canyon, the only one of its kind in Italy for its geo-morphological characteristics, is rich in its species of vegetation of rare beauty. Among these is the presence of the extremely rare Woodwardia Radicans (a species of giant fern), a real living fossil whose traces have been found dating from around 350 million years ago.
The location is also rich in fauna and is represented by very rare species such as the spectacled salamander, the red kite, royal and common owls, the kestrel, the common raven and the Egyptian vulture.
